This is for a 'slab' style body, but if you want a figured top you would glue that on the blank before you start. Keep in mind that the forearm relief will cut through the drop-top.

You use the back template to get the overall shape of the body and the spring cavity. Use the dotted line to mark out the belly cut.

Then use the top plate for the pickups, neck pocket, etc.

A good way to locate the holes is by using a 1/4" Forstner bit in the hole, push down, and the spike will mark the location.
